Crystal Infused Water: The Ultimate Guide to Boost your Health and Wellness Routine

Crystal Infused Water: The Ultimate Guide to Boost your Health and Wellness Routine

Water is essential to life! Staying hydrated is crucial for our overall health and wellness. It is possible to further enhance the benefits of water by infusing it with crystal energy. You can easily create a powerful elixir with the crystals already in your collection.

Below is a list of some crystals that work well in water and are safe to drink.

Crystals to Use for Infusing Water

Rose Quartz

This soft pink stone is a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it safe to put in water. Quartz is the most abundant mineral on earth, and it won’t harm you to ingest in infused water. Rose quartz encourages self-love and compassion and promotes inner peace. It’s a great crystal for everyday sipping and can work in tandem with other crystals as well.

Carnelian

Similar to both agate and quartz in its composition, carnelian is a 6.5-7 on the Mohs hardness scale. Carnelian is said to be a stone of vitality and sexuality. This crystal can be useful for water infusions before date nights, weddings, or any event you want to feel extra confident at!

Citrine

Whether it’s natural or heat-treated, citrine is safe for water at a Mohs hardness rating of 7. Besides its traditional ties to wealth, joy and prosperity, citrine is on this list because of its powerful connection to aiding digestion issues and problems related to the pancreas.

Smoky Quartz

Protect yourself and your surroundings with smoky quartz infused water! It is highly protective and cleansing and is a good option for water infusion for those trying to get over something that’s troubling them. Smoky quartz dispels fear and lifts depression, great to sip on after a hardship.

Shungite

In a recent rise to popularity, shungite water is renowned as being revitalizing and beneficial for our physical health in many ways. While shungite alone can actually make water more acidic, combined with quartz, it balances out the pH and reduces the acidity.

Crystals That Are Not Water Safe

Despite how much we may love certain crystals and desire to carry their energy within us, some crystals are simply not safe to put in water. It is widely believed that a Mohs hardness rating of 6 or above is the best way to know if your crystal is safe to go in water, so use that as a guide when researching crystals to infuse water with.

Malachite

This stunning crystal is the stone of change, but at a 3.5 on the Mohs hardness scale and a whopping 58% copper content, malachite is definitely unsafe to put in drinking water.

Zircon

While zircon is totally safe for wearing as jewelry, it does contain trace amounts of uranium and is minimally radioactive. It’s best to steer clear of zircon in your water.

Garnet

Garnet is an exception to the rule that suggests a 6 or higher on the Mohs scale is safe for water. Garnet is rated as a 6.5-7.5 but contains aluminum which can be harmful in large amounts or prolonged exposure.

Lapis Lazuli

Lapis teeters the line between water soluble and water safe at a Mohs hardness rating of 5.5. Even so, lapis contains sulfur atoms and aluminum which should be avoided in your drinking water.

How to Infuse Water with Crystal Energy

Once you’ve chosen which crystal or crystals you’d like to infuse your water with, your crystals need to be cleansed and charged. Make sure to set your intentions and visualize them flowing into the crystal.

Place your crystal into your water vessel and enjoy. You can let it infuse longer (under moonlight, perhaps) or you can enjoy it right away. Every sip, remind yourself of your intentions and imagine your body being filled with love, light and positive energy.
